Chamba Deluxe Camp Nubra

Across the Kardong La, the highest motorable pass in the world, lies  Nubra - the Valley of Flowers - at an average altitude of about 10,000 ft.  The valley is drained by the great rivers Siachen and Shayok, and is an area of farms and greenery with many willow and poplar trees.  Bactrian camels still graze the sand dunes on the ancient Silk Route, while Buddhist Monasteries cling to steep hillsides.

Chamba Deluxe Camp is in the village of Hundar, set within the Royal Garden of Hundar, known as the Zimskhang.and is on the trekking route from Hundar Drok to Pheyang Monastery.  Set amidst the apricot and poplar trees, surrounded by alpine blossoms, sounds of the glacial streams flowing through the camp into the Shayok River and the singing of many birds contribute to the peaceful atmosphere.  Camel rides can be arranged through the famous sand dunes close to the camp.

The fifteen exclusive luxury tents, each with its own veranda, has electricity supply and attached bathroom facilities with hot and cold water and western toilet.

Freshly prepared vegetarian food is served in the comfortable Dining Hall.
